A very tragic accident, both the driver Rüdiger Süß and the Co-diver, his brother Olaf Süß, did not survive. Olaf died on the spot and Rüdiger died one week later in the hospital. The event was called the "Phyrn-Eisenwurzen Rallye" and was part of the Austrian National Rallye Championship.
