Incredibly he came in 3rd at Long Beach, third at Indy and then won in Milwaukee. Nigel Mansell CART championchip in 93 is perhaps the biggest archievement of his career. Bigger even then his WDC the year prior. The WDC is of course more prestigious but then going over to the states to do it all over again, be quick on the ovals right away and win the championchip, despite suffering debiletating injuries near the beginning of the season and then powering through and racing despite it (and doing well). Absolutely crazy work. Of course the other side of the coin is that another crash at Long Beach or god forbid Indy would have been disastrous. From a post-concussion standpoint alone, crashing at Indy could have very well left him permanently disabled.
