I think those blocks are there, because Toledo Speedway (and probably other speedway) still can't effort the double safer barrier.

metallica101 they put them in the "usual spot" for going off in the entry of the corner. Unfortunately Tommy broke on the backstretch and wrecked before he even got to the corner. The blocks were new this year as well, as a bit of an experiment for cheap "soft walls" for the track .

Those styrofoam blocks were useless, only made things worse. They should have atleast put some around the corner, not just that one spot midway through.
