Heads up: I don't really expect anyone to read this novel of a comment in full, I just just can't keep my statements short. Normally I am very critical of statements like "I think the aeroscreen/halo just saved xyz's live". Because you just can not no that. In order to know that you would have to ask and than answer the question what would have been, wich is pretty much impossible to answer. Fox example back with the start accident at spa where the Halo suposdly saved Leclercs live. I actually went ahead made a screen cap and analyzed the footage pretty much frame by frame, analyzing the trajectory of the car that hit Leclercs Halo (I don't quite remember who's car it was) and came to the conclusion for myself that no it didn't save his live. I mean don't get me wrong I always thoght the Halo was a great saftey invention with no real drawbacks other than it being ugly and I mean weighting looks against saftey, saftey always wins. Frankly I didn't even take me half a year to get used to it. I just don't thing it did anything in that particular instance and that people just wanted it to have saved his life in order to justify the Halo to the haters. For eveybody who is still not convinced of the Halo to this very day, may I remind you that Justin Wilson in particular would stillt be with us if his car would have had a Halo (and possibly Jules Bianchi and danWheldon although I think they would have suffered life-changing injuries regardless). That said in this instance I did pretty much the same thing, albeit not as thoroughly, and I've got to say that the right front wheeln of colton Hertas car might have really had intruded into the cockpit of Veekay's car if it would not have been for the aeroscreen. I was also intially skeptical wether Hertas car had maybe flown so high into the air because of the aerosceen but no. Hertas car mainly launched first over the rear wheel of Veekays car and than over the roll bar. And than of course there is that bodywork piece bouncing of of Ericsons Aeroscreen, as Hinch points rightly points out from his own painful eperience that piece could have done a lot of damage, had it hit ericson in the head.
