Looks more like a technical failure, don't think there is contact, cars don't just lose a wheel like that even if they make contact. Clearly in very unfortunate circumstances he then gets launched over his own wheel. Very nasty how he landed upside down there. Glad to hear the guy atleast will recover.

neteye - I think he didn't hit the other car, but I remember from the stream that commentator said few corners before that perhaps he had some kind of issue because he was going backwards

Looks like from the small contact with the other car, the suspension breaks and somehow he then flips over his own wheel. definetely a weird one
