They need to replace that barrier with a concrete wall. Obviously an impact for the driver will be harder, but most crashes there are glancing blows. It's fairly unlikely a driver will hit the outside wall head on at a high speed so I feel it's the generally safer solution and prevents cars from flipping over the barrier. It's not the first time a car ramped of that barrier at Brands and it won't be the last time if they leave it like this. Unfortunately a marshall has now lost a life due to this flawed barrier, RIP.

Not the first time a guardrail is used as a ramp by a car. They only ever work well right next to the tarmac resulting in low perpendicular speed due to the low angle of impact or placed much further away allowing the large runoff area to decelerate the car to a low impact speed. Placing a marshall station at this part of the track, this distance away from the tarmac, right behind a guardrail lacking a catchfence is the epitome of negligent barrier design.

Ugh. What a horrible week for motorsport. Two bike crashes, with one death and one coma, the huge wreck during the spa 24 hours, and now this.

The marshal hit by the car sadly passed away. RIP

Hate to see this. Wishing the best for all involved and their families. Hopefully this leads to some better barrier solutions on the front straight to Paddock Hill Bend, as this is not the first time there's been an accident like this in that location. :(

Then there is no need to upload a video at all. Enough photos with the consequences.

@Freeman665 - An "idiot" who rightfully doesn't want injured marshals on the TV screens.

what kind of idiot would switch the camera during an accident?
