How is this possible?! For one a recovery vehicle should never be on track if vehicles are still racing around. Secondly a recovery vehicle should never drive against traffic. Then after the incident for them to just back up with the kart stuck under the car was even worse. Horiffic accident that could have easily been avoided if even the slightest bit of concern for safety was involved... I hope Chiwara can recover from these very serious injuries and I also hope they launch a investigation into how this could happen and how to make sure it never happens again.

Unfortunately, Matthew Chiwara collided with a recovery vehicle after the finish of the final Junior Max race. Chiwara was rushed to the hospital with multiple injuries. Matthew was reported conscious and stable on Sunday morning. The incident will be investigated by MSA.
