The driver we are onboard with is Daniel Alexander. Behind him another rider -Dwayne A. Brown- also had to try and avoid the ambulance but he clipped the back end of it and crashed as well. Both drivers were relatively uninjured, they walked away but were checked in hospital afterwards. Apparently it's 'normal' for an ambulance to cross this track when carrying a patient. It is the only way to get to or leave the infield. They would usually warn riders with flags and wait for a gap in traffic before sending over the ambulance, this time communications failed and the ambulance just randomly drove onto the track. It seems like a pretty daft and unsafe way to handle this. They are extremely lucky that both riders avoided the ambulance otherwise this would have been fatal for sure. What was the ambulance driver thinking??? Hopefully the rider wasn't hurt
