Card lockout times
Nascar47fan 2 yearsDid the lockout times for collector card drops change in the last 24 hours? The ATCC winners set for example was giving me lockouts anywhere between 1-6 hours if I missed the card, but now they range from 24 hours - 9 days. I know I didn't set these when I created the set, and rarity seems to have no bearing on the length of lockouts.

i saw this yesterday some cards are 10 days. i cant find a card that will give SVG a hit in the ATCC.
also in supercars 2024 and f1 2024

His battle with Mostert, Waters & Whincup at Sandown in 2021 hits. Along with Mostert & Whincup (Can't confirm Waters as I have usually 'hit' him before I get to that one)

Now that the full explanation has dropped, there's a lot that sounds good, but the one thing I'm not too enthusiastic about is the considerably longer wait times between attempts. The rarity change is fine on its own, but both combined could result in some loooong wait times to get particular cards, even commons. Cards that may have only taken a couple of days at most before now could take upwards of a couple of months :(
Oh, and I'd have picked 5 as the new limit myself, just because it's nice and round :P

Having just read the update, firstly Happy Birthday to the site! I have to admit to not being a big fan of the proposed changes. I have no issue with limiting card numbers and it will be good extending Throwback Thursdays. The bit I really don’t like is the logic of « we have lots more cards, card numbers are ever increasing, we’re going to make getting cards harder. ». As of today, there’s multiple sets live on videos so for people like me who just click through a trusty set of favourites, it is just making the collecting less fun. In the same way it’s a bit frustrating when videos that trigger a large amount of cards get untagged. (I didn’t know what the multiple tab trick was so it sounds like I’ve been missing out there!!)

I'm not a fan of the new lockout times either, especially since they are:
a) Not based on rarity
b) Have no consistency to them at all
Makes it even harder as well when card sets have a limit on them until they become Legacy's (The yearly F1, V8 sets being great examples).
I remember when the cards first came out 10 years ago, all cards had a 24 hour lockout if missed. I was surprised when this changed, but felt this was a good setup for it. Idk the logistics of anything, but would that work again?

looks like im another one not a fan of the latest change, due to limit of 4 cards and having over 4000 cards, its not worth while collecting or playing the bingo game, dont get me started on booster packs, i open 2 packs and got to keep 2 cards as the rest exceeded the limit. The token limit wont take long to max out either, not a fan at all...

Part of my original post seems not to have come through but it was mainly more of the same. for an example, I am currently locked out of two hidden cards on a 2024 Supercars video for four days and six days respectively. The only reason I know that is because I have the Card Spy. For people who don’t, it’s just futile. I agree on the 24 hour lock-out as it’s consistent and you will just know.
Six days on a rare card just makes the hit chances ridiculously remote and there is no easy way of knowing.

I'll trade away pretty much any card, so feel free to browse and make a trade if theres something I have that you need to avoid delays/lockouts. I dont do any card games besides a little bingo, so can't really comment on the system.. Happy Birthday DarcyF1! just realised only one letter change and its Farcry :P

request/accept friend requests to become 'friends' with as many ppl on here as you can, when they play a card then you will be able to put 2 cards down..

Hi everyone - thank you for the feedback, it's an interesting discussion!
A few points.
1. The changes have been made to made to rebalance the entire system. A lot of comments in this thread are from collectors who have 10,000s of cards, and who play in a very specific way. While the changes are also designed to help keep a high-end challenge for you, they are also about helping our new collectors start their collection with a wider range of cards. So you might be focused on the 100 cards you don't have, and that those in isolation are now more difficult to collect, the wider impact of the changes is that there are thousands of additional cards now more available to collectors.
2. The odds and lockout changes should be viewed in partnership, and along with the reintroduction of thousands of cards back into video browsing drops. While any given card may take longer to collect, a typical collector will now (on average) find 3x as many cards in a typical month. Again, the whole picture is what these adjustments are focused on.
3. I'm not sure whether the Bingo double-play was unclear, or lost in the News post, but given there is lots of conversation, let me hghlight it again. The Bingo double-play is now rate limited. The specifics of that aren't published, and it will fluctuate depending on a few metrics. But in case the concept of rate limiting isn't clear, it could be once-per-day, once-per-friend-per-week, two double plays per board, things like that. This one has been greatly informed by player data, and is being attentively monitored since coming into affect.
4. Card lockouts. Firstly, thank you specifically to @Nascar47fan who correctly pointed out that the lockout durations weren't tied to rarity. This has now been corrected. Furthermore, it seems that the randomness of the lockout durations were confusing - especially to those not using CardSpy. The following has been changed (going forward), and will be monitored. Once settled, they will be published onto the Cards > Information page for better visibility.
Rarity - Miss Lockout - Hit Lockout
Common - 2 days - 5 days
Uncommon - 1 day - 3 days
Rare - 12 hours - 2 days
Mega Rare - 4 hours - 1 day
Extreme Rare - 1 hour - 1 hour

Thanks for the update and those lockout times are much, much better than what we had been seeing. The six day lockouts on misses for any card was the best example of my main frustration. This seems much better aligned as I rarely do more than two sets of « searches » a day, normally just one!
Thanks again for the update and open explanation!

Considering the lockouts were my only problem, and this new setup is actually better than what I imagined, you could say that I more than happy with this :D

Currently, Throwback Thursday kicks in at 00:00h on Thursday UTC - though we are doing limited testing on having it adhere to a user's chosen timezone.
CardSpy will include the legacy cards being hit when they are hittable.
Note that there was a small delay today as the card drop logic didn't love being asked to deliver cards that weren't 'available', that required a fix.

OK, it's one thing to limit bingo double plays, but this is just a cheap shot: about 1 board ago I had access to 2 cards, but after trying to play the second one and having the slot already filled by then, the double play literally got taken away without even being used, and I don't even have it on this next one.

i had that happen the other day, played the second card on double play, card ended up on the board, only for it to dissappear and no double play.

i have had this too, i think that the board remembers that you have played twice in a certain period of time and doesn't let you play
I also agree with michael24 that it has taken a lot of fun out of bingo.

In what way? I haven't had any issues with the functionality other than the one raised by Carbonox above. On the other hand, the new rules have really reduced the amount of playing. There was a Booster Pack-only board the other day and, out of the five lines (using my second card allocation for the day!) I could have received rewards for, only one of them was completed before the Board expired. These boards used to fill up almost immediately.

yes, that is the board I was talking about.( in a round about way) I played my card and watched the whole game, and if that can't be filled in 3 hours, usually a few minutes what hope of we got of filing any other boards.

Isn't it time for another monthly reward theme for a change? Last month I could chalk it up to a brief statistical anomaly, but to still not have one is getting boring. Plus it makes bingo boards worth a bit less than usual, and thumb hunts practically worthless if there's barely any chance of a card coming out to fill a TH only bingo square with.

what might be better is, if you are limited to a certain number of double plays, and then choose when you want to use them.
